What is a Conversation Charge?
WhatsApp uses conversation-based pricing. You're charged per conversation (24-hour session), not per message. Charges vary by:
- Conversation category: Marketing, Utility, Authentication, or Service
- Country: Rates differ by recipient's country
- Who initiates: Business-initiated vs. user-initiated
Accessing Charge Reports
- Go to Reports in the sidebar
- Select Conversation Charges
- Choose your date range

Free Conversations
Meta provides 1,000 free service conversations per month. These are user-initiated conversations where the customer messages you first.
💡 Tip: Maximize free conversations by encouraging customers to message you via WhatsApp links and QR codes.
Detailed Report
Drill down into detailed conversation logs:
- Individual conversation timestamps
- Contact phone numbers
- Conversation category
- Cost per conversation
- Associated broadcast (if any)
Exporting Data
Export your charge data for accounting:
- Select the date range
- Click Export
- Choose CSV or Excel format
- Use for invoicing, reconciliation, or analysis
